My name is Kevin W. Hardin. I am currently the Director of the Mortgage Mediation Group a practice group of the law firm of McCarthy Law. After a 16 year career in the mortgage industry the mortgage market as we knew it collapsed. Having focused my career on compliance, regulatory and statutory issues I was ideally suited as a Secondary Market and Capital Markets executive for a mortgage lender that no longer existed. Faced with a hail storm of lemons I set out to make lemonade.
As the real estate market collapsed and the bail out programs began to fail homeowners found themselves in desperate situations. The lender they had worked so hard to pay turn their back on that good customer with little in the way of solutions. In August of 2008 I set out to reinvent myself and leverage that career to help homeowners. As a mortgage expert I knew well how the secondary market worked. I knew how securitization worked. I knew how loans were actually serviced and why loan modifications as they were designed then were destined to fail.
Mortgage Mediation Group was born. Our mission was to address those homeowners that face a point today where they owe more than their home is worth. The solutions needed to be diverse and sophisticated. Today we assist homeowners with Loan Modifications, Short Sales, Deeds In Lieu, Foreclosure Abatement, Forensic Audit, Short Sale / Deficiency Review, Foreclosure Defense, Deficiency Defense, Cancellation of Debt Tax and Real Property issues in general.
With the mission in place I set out to increase my knowledge and began law school. Today I hold the CMB (Certified Mortgage Banker), CMC (Certified Mortgage Consultant), CMPS (Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist) designations. I completed my JD studies at Concord University School of Law. I don’t share my background to impress the reader. I share my background to impress upon you that I have focused my career on development, professionalism and expertise.
